Our Professional Roof Replacement Process:
Every step of our roofing process is designed to protect the rest of your home and give you the best roof you’ll ever have.
First is the Tear Off Phase:
- Upon arrival at your home, the project manager and crew will introduce themselves to you letting you know they have arrived and are ready to begin the process of replacing your roof.
- They will do a quick walk around the property to ensure any items, property, or landscaping requiring additional attention are moved or properly protected during the tear-off phase.
- The crew will temporarily install tarps to protect the home and landscaping during the tear-off phase of the roofing installation.
- The crew will remove all existing layers of roofing material down to the existing roof decking and perform a visual inspection. In the event we do find rotted or compromised roof decking, it will be removed and replaced to assure the proper installation requirements of a new roofing system.
Next is the Installation Phase:
- Drip edge: Will be installed around the entire perimeter of the roof. Not only is drip edge a building code requirement and recommended by manufacturers, but it will also help prevent slow-moving or dripping water from working its way between the roof deck and fascia.
- Ice & Water Shield: A self-adhering membrane that seals around all nail penetrations, will be installed at all eaves, valleys, sidewalls, chimneys, skylights, and any other roof penetrations. This will protect your home from ice damming, and wind-driven rains while adding extra protection in the most vulnerable areas of a roofing system.
- Synthetic Underlayment: Will be applied to the remaining roof deck. Providing a water-shedding barrier under your shingles to help guard against wind-driven rains.
- Intake ventilation: If needed, it will be installed on the eaves of the roof helping create a balanced air flow by replacing warm, humid air with cool dry air. Ensuring proper air flows through the attic to manage temperature and moisture.
- Starter Shingles: Will be installed around the entire perimeter of the roof. Ensuring a straight and effective seal along the roof’s eaves and rakes adds extra protection against high winds.
- Shingles: Of your choice will be installed providing a long-lasting protection and curb appeal by enhancing the appearance of your roof.
- Flashings & Accessories: Will be installed in conjunction, and as per the manufacturer’s requirements with the roofing shingles. Step flashing will be installed where a roof meets a wall, around include pipe boots, roof vents, and attic fans. All roof accessories will be replaced during the new roof installation.
- Ridge Vent: Will be installed at your roof ridges. Aiding in the optimization of airflow in your attic, while also reducing heat and moisture build-up which can lead to ice damming, roof deck deterioration, and mold infestation.
- Hip and Ridge: Shingles are to be installed along your roof’s hips and ridges. Adding extra protection and the finishing touch. They are designed to complement and match the shingle of your choice.
- Final Cleanup: This will take place once all the roofing system components have been installed. We will blow off the new roof, clean out all the gutters, pick up all roofing debris from the landscaping and yard, sweep your landscaping and yard with a magnet to collect any nails, and dispose of all roofing debris.
- We conduct a ventilation balance audit to prevent moisture buildup and help your new roof perform as it was designed to and to keep energy costs low.
Finally, the Customer Satisfaction Phase:
Upon completion, the project manager and crew will notify you that the roof installation has been completed. You, the project manager, and crew leader will perform an inspection of the work completed.
- If any issues are discovered during the walk-through inspection, the crew will address them immediately to ensure your complete satisfaction.
- Once the final inspection is complete and all the work performed is to your satisfaction, the project manager will have you sign a completion form, allowing ARCH Exteriors to register all warranty information and process or collect the final payment for your project.
All that is left to do is enjoy the benefits of your new roof replacement.

Frequently Ask Questions
How much does a roof replacement cost?
It’s a question we are often asked here at ARCH Exteriors when speaking with homeowners, and in general you can expect a new roof to cost between $4,000.00 all the way up to $55,000.00. There are a few things that will have a direct impact on the cost of a new roof. These include the type of roofing system, the roof size, and the roof complexity.
Do you provide warranties on roof replacements?
Absolutely. When you choose Owens Corning roofing products, you have complete coverage for all manufacturer defects. Owens Corning asphalt shingles also come with transferable manufacturer roofing warranties, meaning you can transfer the warranty from the original property owner to the subsequent property owner to extend the roof’s coverage.
As an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, we can offer the highest level of extended warranty coverage when you choose an Owens Corning roofing system installed by us.
How long will my roof replacement take to install?
Fortunately, most of the roof replacement projects installed by ARCH Exteriors can be completed in one day. This is due to our skilled craftsman and years of developing the most efficient methods of roof installation. A few things that can impact the amount of time needed to complete a roof replacement are roof accessibility, the sizes of the roof, and the complexity of the roof.
Does ARCH Exteriors offer financing?
Yes! Qualified homeowners can finance their projects easily.
- Schedule an appointment to have a design consultant come out to your home.
- The design consultant will work with you in choosing the products and services needed to complete the project and provide you with the cost to do so.
- Once you have reviewed the estimate, we will provide you with our financing options allowing you to pick the best one for your budget.
- The last step will be to submit the application for the plan of your choice, with application approval only taking a few minutes.
What is storm damage?
Storm damage can be caused by wind, rain, hail, etc., and seriously impact your home’s roof. Whether contained or widespread, the effects could be instant or take some time to manifest. You should never ignore storm damage.
A damaged roof can cause water leaks, mold and structural rot that can compromise not just your roofing structure, but your home’s safety. We are experts at identifying storm damage and can provide all the documentation needed when dealing with storm damage and answer any questions you may have to get your home back to its original state.
How do I know I need a roof replacement?
There are 4 tell-tale signs it may be time for a roof replacement.
- Age: If your roof is 20 years old or older and has not been replaced it is highly likely that the current shingle roof on your home is coming to the end of its life expectancy. Even if it's not leaking now, it's a good time to start planning and budgeting for your roof replacement.
- Leaking: If your roof is leaking in multiple spots and has already been repaired, it is a sign that your home may need a new roof. Leaks in multiple areas indicate the current roof system is failing.
- Granule Loss: Asphalt shingles are coated with granules to protect them from the elements. While granule loss is a normal occurrence over time, if you notice large amounts of granules in your gutters or downspouts, or notice bare spots on your shingles, it is a sign that the shingles are nearing the end of their life expectancy.
- Missing Shingles: While a couple of missing shingles may seem like a small issue, there may be more to it than meets the eye. Missing shingles are a sign that the roof has suffered from wind damage. When it comes to wind damage it's not just the missing shingles that need to be addressed but the other shingles on the roof may have been pulled up, creased, or had the seal and bond broken. If the roof did suffer from wind damage, it’s only a matter of time that shingles will blow off during the next storm or windy day.
